Krasl Art Center Field Trip
High School students who are currently enrolled in an art class had the opportunity to visit the Krasl Art Center (Krasl.org). The students were led through the gallery by an excellent, knowledgable docent and created figure drawings inspired by the current exhibition, Body Language.

Avid art student and junior, Miss S. Heath, skillfully created a beautiful watercolor painting of Captain Whitaker’s ship for the Three Oaks Museum.

Community Student Art Exhibition at the Box Factory
Middle and High School students presented work at the Box Factory for the Arts in the annual Community Student Art Exhibition. Miss J. Hewitt took 2nd place in the Digital Arts category, and Miss C. Nerada and Miss J. Humphrey took home Community Art Awards.

Art Class into the Community
Students created pottery for the annual fundraiser, Empty Bowls, hosted at New Buffalo High School. Proceeds go to the charity, Blessings in a Backpack.

Last year, keen art student and junior S. Heath was hired to illustrate the book, “Willow and Wren, Feeney Family Day Off,” written by local author Pam Feeney. Now, she is reading the published book to elementary students and sharing her experiences.
