Artwork in the Community

Bridgman students displayed their artwork at the Box Factory Student Art Exhibition in St. Joseph, MI. Gavin B. took second place in the 3D category. Grace S. won the Bridgman Community Awards as well as the Robert R. Williams Portrait Award. Carter B. displayed his artwork in the Emerging Artist category for High School seniors planning to pursue an art degree in college. Carter plans to attend Lake Michigan College to pursue Art Education.

Artwork in the Community

Sophomore Tierney T. and Freshman Alexa C. were the two winners of the Hungerford Art Competition. This is an annual art competition sponsored by Hungerford CPAs + Advisors. The artwork will be on display at the Hungerford office in St. Joseph, MI.

Student Artwork

Pencil and pen drawings from Advanced Art class at Bridgman High School. This semester students practiced creating realistic images as well as the expressive qualities of mark making. Project themes like “Play,” “Beauty,” and “Power” pushed students to use their learned drawing techniques in unique ways.

Advanced Art students at Bridgman High School created surreal paintings and drawing taking inspiration from famous works of art, while adding their own unique spin.

Artwork in the Community

The Box Factory for the Arts Student and Community Exhibition featured artwork from 26 area schools. Senior Taylor Kirk won the Berrien County Artist Guild Portrait Class Award. Senior Evie Lawrence won the Stevens Memorial Award. Freshman Aster S. won the High School Community Award. Congrats to all the students who had their artwork featured at the show.

Art students created mixed media collages using a variety of materials including magazine clippings, buttons, rings, keys, fabric, and newspaper, as well as their own drawings and paintings.

Krasl Art Center Class Trip

Art Appreciation students (Lake Michigan College) and Advanced Art Students (Bridgman High School) took a trip together to the Krasl Art Center in St. Joseph to view the current Stop Motion Animation exhibition by Indiana native artist Joe Baughman. After viewing Baughman’s work, they created simple stop motion animations in Krasl’s studios.

Beginning Art students at Bridgman High School learned perspective and shading techniques in pencil drawing and created a variety of projects including a perspective drawing and a portrait.

Artwork in the Community

Sophomore Cooper Stewart won 2nd place in the Congressional Art Competition for Michigan's District 5 with his digital photograph titled, "A Wintry Walk."

This is a nationally acclaimed art competition with a winner and runner-up from each US district across the country. The winner's artwork is displayed in the Capitol building in Washington DC. As the runner-up, Cooper met with Congressman Walberg and his artwork is on display in the Niles district office, 92 E. Main St.
